Prepare

• Life jacket or PFD
• Synthetic clothing! No cotton. Prepared for immersion based on water temperature.
• Drinking water
• Snacks

At the Put-In

• Arrive early and be ready to launch on time, allowing time to unload.
• Safety talk
• Communications
• Gear check

On the Water

• Stay within talking distance of at least one other participant
• Keep an eye on the trip leader, who will often be able to provide tips, and know risks associated with a route
